TENTH ANNUAL GLOBAL WATER ALLIANCE CONFERENCE

                             IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING SCIENCE AND  TECHNOLOGY, SHIBPUR

The Global Water Alliance is a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

"Role of Locals in Implementing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sustainable Development Goals, 2015-2030"

Lincoln Hall, American Center |Kolkata, India | January 4-7, 2017 (Site visits January 5-6)

Abstracts are sought for oral presentations dealing with technical, sociological, institutional, financial, educational, and local aspects of WASH implementation to achieve UN SDG 2030 goals. Abstract topics should conform with any one of the following topics of various panels of the conference:

  • Panel A: Roles of Locals, Governments, NGOs, Industries & Beneficiaries for Sustainable WASH programs

  • Panel B: WASH Case Studies (Urban, Rural, Community based, Schools) Lessons learned, possibility of replication, good practices, negotiation processes, etc.

  • Panel C: Institutional Requirement for Sustainable WASH Programs

  • Panel D: Role of Gender Participation, and Empowerment of Women for Successful WASH Projects

  • Panel E: Beneficiaries/Stakeholders Speak, Experts Listen

  • Panel F: Monitoring for Sustainability and Impacts on Community who will monitor community initiatives, role of government, role of funding agencies, real time and proxy indicators for monitoring

All abstract submissions are due by September 30, 2016.

Selected presenters will be informed of acceptance by October 31, 2016.

Presentation Guidelines

Within 500 words in MS Word or PDF format

  • Include succinct but descriptive title of the presentations, as well as name, affiliation, and contact information (e-mail and telephone numbers) of the authors

  • Must include a brief description of the actual project, research, intervention, program or innovation. The abstract should also discuss significant results of the efforts, conclusions, or recommendations drawn.
